HISTORY
VINO was conceived one Saturday afternoon in the fall of 2001 by two complete strangers who stumbled into each other at Chalet Debonne in South Madison. The two strangers were standing in line waiting their turn to purchase some fresh juice, when a woman came in with a list of wine supplies she would need to start making some homemade wine. The two strangers stood by and watched as this new winemaker went methodically through her list making sure she had everything to make her first batch of wine. As they started to talk, they realized about how they too had been in the same predicament years before. Not knowing what for sure they would need to make a successful batch of wine. The two men began discussing the idea of putting together a resource that you could go to other than books or magazines for some firsthand knowledge on making wine at home. This prompted the thought; wouldn't it be nice to start a home winemaking club that could help new winemakers be successful in their quest to make a good tasting wine, as well as seasoned wine makers being able to share some knowledge with each other.
“Voila VINO was born that day."
